The deputy president elect Prof, Kithure Kindiki today welcomed Presdient of the Republic of Kenya and commander in Chiefof the Kenya Defence Forces H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto in Kwale county to officiate the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kwale County. Kithure Kindiki was nominated deputy president elect and approved by the National Assembly to replace Rigathi Gachagua who was impeached by the National Assembly and upheld by the Senate to remove Gachagua from office.
The impeachment was marred by much drama from the speed at which it was done, to the cross examination of hon. Mutuse to withdrawal of Gachagua defense team from the senate, to Gachagua missing at the senate and later being admitted to finally voting which removed Gachagua from office of the deputy president of the republic of Kenya.
After the impeachmet of Gachagua, president Ruto Nominated Kithure Kindiki for the position of deputy president to fill the vacancy created by Gachagua removal from office. The name was sent to the National Assembly for approval and he was voted as the deputy president elect to replace Rigathi Gachagua.
Today being the great day in Kwale for the first ever Mashujaa day celebrations at the county, Kindiki welcomed the president to preside over the event a function which was to be done by Rigathi Gachagua.
