Mr. Gilbert Masengeli is the current Deputy Inspector General Administration police service.
Masengeli history and rise to deputy Inspector General
DIG Gilbert Masengeli was born on August 28, 1970, and comes from Trans Nzoia county Kiminini constituency Mitoto Area, and is a member of the Bukusu tribe.
Masengeli’s career is marked by significant accomplishments. He first gained recognition as the head of the Special Operations Group (SOG) under the Border Patrol Unit, noted for its effective counter-terrorism efforts against al-Shabaab militants. His leadership in this role was pivotal.
He later became the Commandant of the Administration Police Training Campus (APTC) in Embakasi, where he significantly improved training standards by incorporating new technologies and methodologies, fostering a culture of excellence within the force.
In July 2024, President William Ruto appointed Masengeli as the Deputy Inspector-General overseeing the Administration Police Service.
