The Haitian prime minister Dr. Colline today visited the Kenya police officers who are on pre deployed training to Haiti for a peace mission to rescue the country from armed gangs. This comes after he met with president of Kenya Dr. William Ruto yesterday at statehouse Nairobi where they agreed on several collaborations between Kenya and Haiti.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, His Excellency, Dr. Garry Conille today visited NPS Headquarters at Jogoo House “A” accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Labor, Dr. Alfred Mutua.
The PM was received by Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja Kirocho before he toured the Integrated Command and Communication Centre. The PM later proceeded to the National Police College Embakasi “A” Campus, where he addressed the Officers currently on pre-deployment training in readiness for next deployment to Haiti Mission.
In his remarks, His Excellency the Prime Minister Dr. Conille said that he looks forward to personnally seeing the NPS Officers in Haiti, and further extended his gratitude to the Kenyan people for the sacrifice and support extended to the people of Haiti.
On his part, IG Kanja stated that the 600 Officers currently training at the college are drawn from specialized NPS Units including GSU, ASTU, RDU and the all-female Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and will soon be ready for deployment to Haiti.
IG Kanja appreciated the PM for visiting NPS, noting that todays visit strengthens the continued cooperation and commitment that MSS has had with the Haitian National Police in our collective efforts to achieve lasting peace and security in Haiti.
Also present was the National Security Adviser, Amb. Dr. Monica Juma, DIG Kenya Police, Mr. Eliud Lagat, DIG Administration Police, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, and the DCI Mr. Mohamed I. Amin and Senior NPS Commanders.
