There was shock and confussion as Raila Odinga took to the press to support the controversial Adani JJIA takeover deal which has sparked mixed reactions in Kenya. Speaking in Mombasa, Raila Odinga said that he has witnessed many projects that have been done by the Adani Companies in Gujarat and Mumbai.
Raila Odinga said he visited Mumbai Airport and it was world class standard, He said Adani is a reputable company which potential to change the face of Jomo Kenyatta International Arport to world class standards. Raila Odinga said the PPP proposal used to sign the deal was born when he was prime minister but when they came up which the proposal and took it to the treasury, it was altered and came out with many restrictions which could not allow any private company to undertake any business.
He continued to say that the proposal was later ammended to what it is today and thats why many private companies are coming to do business with the government of kenya. Raila said the deal should not be politicised in any way and Kenya Kwanza must be given a chance to work.
The Adani deal has in recent days caused chaos in Kenya which led to invassion of parliament and death of many youths who came up in the name of Gen Z to protest against the government for poor governance.
