    Raila’s aide George Oduor dies

    Nairobi, Wednesday 2nd April, 2025

    Former Prime minister Raila Odinga’s personal aide and bodyguard George oduor has died in Nairobi west hospital after a short illness.

    “It is with profound shock and sadness that I announce the passing of my personal aide and bodyguard George Oduor this evening in Nairobi after a short illness“

    George Oduor has been in the Odinga family since 1980’s from guarding the late Jaramog Oginga Odinga to Raila Amollo Odinga. When Jaramog Oginga died, Oduor started guarding Raila Odinga and he has been the longeat serving aide and bodyguard to Raila Odinga.

    “George has been a part of Jaramogi’s and my family since the late 80’s.“

    Raila Odinga has termed the late bodyguard as a dedicated officer who they have been together for the longest time going through much together while serving him.

    “We have stood, fallen and risen together.”

    Raila Odinga has termed the fallen officer as dedicated, vigillant, calm, confident, and extremely professional aid dedicated to duty and dependable to him thought the thick and thin during their life together.
    “He has been a vigilant, calm, confident, and extremely professional aide dedicated to duty and dependable rock on my side all these years through tumultuous periods.“
    Raila odinga offered his condolences and the whole of his family to the wife of the late George Oduor’s wife during this hard time they are going through.

    “To his wife, Carol George, entire family, colleagues, and friends, I offer Mama Ida’s and the entire Jaramogi family’s sincere condolences at this devastating loss.“
