
Deputy president of Kenya Prof. Kithure Kindiki today met 4500 pastors from across the country in KICC Nairobi for the ongoing Africa Revival Agenda conference.
The church and politics
Today the Deputy President of the republicof Kenya Prof. Kithure Kindiki joined 4500 pastors in Nairobi Kenyatta International Convention Centre KICC on their ongoing Africa Revival Agenda Conference where he emphasized the importance of the church in the country and leadership of the country. While addressing the pastors, the deputy president underscored the relationship between the church and national leadership saying the church and politics are two different entities but in one way or the other share some common facts.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the church and the government leadership share the same vision and priorities in fighting ills in the society such as corruption therefore giving government easy time in the fight against ills. Through preaching good morals, the church makes it easy for the leadership to fight societal ills such as corruption, drug abuse among many others.
Son of a pastor
The deputy president amazed the pastors when he introduced himself as a son of a pastor who did pastoral job for more than 50 years. Deputy president Kindiki also acknowledged being a product of the gospel. He did not hide his joy seeing a large number of pastors from across the 47 counties gathered together for a common purpose. “I like what am seeing”. DP Kindiki said his father was a pastor for a long time and he is now very old at 96 years. He was raised in a pastoral family.
Pledge to support the church
The deputy president pledged support of the government to the church in solving matters that are affecting the. Many churches are having problems with their property such as title deeds and are trying to acquire property and get genuine title deeds. The deputy president Kindiki assured of the government support in solving such problems to the affected churches whenever need arises.
Deputy Kithure Kindiki also promised the support of the government to the men of God who take more time praying and thinking about other people while forgetting themselves. He promised to assist some of the pastors for their children to get opportunities in the government as they serve and pray for others while forgetting their own families for the sake of others.
Greetings from President William Ruto
Dp Kithure Kindiki delivered greetings from President William Ruto acknowledging that he told the president where he was going and he was going to do. He defended the good relationship between the president and him unlike in previous leadership where the president and his deputy were not in good terms. He went ahead to say that a divided country will not move forward and the need for harmony in the leadership of a country.
