
Forcer cabinet secretary Raphael Tuju who was arrested today has been released on a cash bail of two hundred thousand shillings Ksh. 200,000.
Tuju was arrested when he resurfaced after going missing raising concerns that he was abducted and being held by the authorities.
The opposition leaders had taken to the media claiming that the government was holding Raphael Tuju demanding that the government should release him.
When Tuju resurfaced from his hideout, he put it clear that nobody had abducted or held him but he decided to go into hiding after fearing that he was being trailed by an unknown vehicle.
Tuju said he decided to abandon his vehicle and went to hide somewhere in Kiambu where he did not reveal the exact place.
Hiding and reappearance from hiding
When Tuju reappeared from his hideout, he was taken to the police to write a statement where his health seemed not well.
Rushed to hospital
Tuju was rushed to hospital by the doctors who were attending to him in Karen police station who said his health required medical attention and that his health would not allow him to appear in court without being attended to first.
Charges of giving false information
Tuju was charged with giving false information to a public officer employed in the public service. This is after he went to hiding and claiming to have been abducted. However Tuju dismissed claims of him being abducted explaining that he was hiding somewhere in Kiambu.
