The Inspector General of the National Police Service Mr. Douglas Kanja today ordered immediate investigations in the incident where police officers were captured on CCTV cameral brutally assaulting youths in a pool table game in Nandi County.
In the video which circulated on social media, the youths were enjoying pool table at 11pm when police officers stormed the house and began to beat them with rungus. The police officers were numbering almost 10. After beating and assaulting the innocent youths, they ordered them to lie down and left them lying as they left the scene.
Motive of the operation
The motive of the police officers who assaulted the pool playing youths has not yet been established as investigation agencies rush to conduct investigations into the matter and take necessary administrative action.
Immediate investigations to be completed in 3 days
In a statement issued by the National Police Service, the Inspector general mr. Douglas Kanja ordered immediate investigations by the internal Affairs Unit, The Directorate of Criminal Investigations and relevant agencies to complete investigations within 3 days.

The youths who were brutally assaulted by the police officers have recorded statements and launched official complains in Nandi police station while others are yet to do the same.
