Super Metro bus company has announced three days suspension on their buses for a crucial task ahead of them for the betterment of the company.
Super Metro’s 3 days suspension of operation
The bus company that operates within Nairobi and its environs, announced the suspension so as to complete the remaining process of compliance with the National Transport licensing Appeals. The company’s license was recently suspended over non compliance with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
The suspension stopped operations of the company for a number of days before they were back to the roads. This came after one of the Super Metro buses was involved in an accident after the conductor threw out a passenger from a moving vehicle causing his dead instantly.
There were also several incidences of traffic offences by the super metro buses on the road ranging from, driving on the wrong side of the road, overlapping, making u turns in places not allowed to make u turns, over speeding and overloading of the buses among other offences.
On further investigations, it was revealed that majority of the super metro buses did not have the annual inspection certificate from the National Transport and Safety Authority NTSA which is a mandatory requirement for any public service vehicle (psv) to operate on the Kenyan roads. All these led to the suspension of Super Metro limited operation until they fully comply with the law to resume operations.
